Dogs n pumpkin
Dogs n pumpkin Pumpkin is actually good in small amounts in a dogs diet. It is full of vitamins, good for coats, aids in a healthy digestive system and most dogs like it. It is very important to note that we are talking about pure pumpkin. One of the easiest forms to use is canned pumpkin puree. Do Not use canned pumpkin pie filling because it is filled with a lot of artificial sweeteners that are not good for our K9 friends. With Thanksgiving just around the corner I thought I would share a recipe so that your four-legged family member can enjoy the holiday too. Dog-friendly Pumpkin Pie Preheat oven to 375 degrees 1 can pumpkin puree (not pie mix) 3 eggs 1/2 cup skim milk (or unsweetened soy milk) 1/2 cup brown sugar (it is a holiday) wholewheat pie shell Whip all ingredients together and pour into wholewheat pie shell and bake at 375 degrees for 60 minutes, or until knife comes out clean. Your dogs pumpkin pie will be rich and not to sweet. Adding something new to a dogs diet can sometimes upset their digestive system, so dont go overboard. Share a slice with other doggie friends. Enjoy!
